Noble Road Library Branch

About the Noble Road Library Project

Our architecture firm sees many maintenance and repair projects. In 2007, we undertook a system-wide branch maintenance and repair survey for the Cleveland Heights - University Heights Library System. Each branch was reviewed and we developed a ten-year plan for maintenance. The Noble Road Branch (located in Cleveland Heights, OH) took advantage of this opportunity to study the plan of the building and in doing so, discovered flaws in the layout and building’s design that compromised the model for service. As a response, they chose us to be their architects in a major building renovation project.

studioTECHNE’s Noble Road Library Design Solutions

studioTECHNE | Architects worked with Noble Road Library and re-planned the interior of the building. They needed a renovated interior which included new finishes and furniture.

We also restructured the interior so that public areas of the two story structure could be serviced by three librarians. The cramped children’s area was relocated to the lower level and expanded upon. It is now called the Literacy PLAYroom - a playroom for children ages 0-6 to play, explore, socialize and learn. The first floor was opened up for adults and computer areas. Finally, a dedicated teen room was placed separated from the rest of the library, but in a location where it could be directly observed from the staff workroom.
